What internet speed should I get?
What internet speed should I get?
Updated over a year ago

To determine the appropriate internet speed for your needs, consider your usage demands and the number of devices that will be simultaneously connected.

For most households, to perform common activities like browsing, sending emails, using social media, and streaming Netflix, a speed of 100 Mbps is usually sufficient.

A helpful way to understand this concept is by comparing internet speeds to a fast car. Similar to owning a sports car, a high-speed internet plan doesn't guarantee that you'll always be able to utilize its full speed, since application limitations can also play a role.

Each application has its own maximum speed capacity, and your internet speed will be restricted by the capability of the application in use. Below are some of the speed requisites for various applications.

Application

Speed Required

5 mbps

Browsing
