Why did the technician install a temporary cable?
Why did the technician install a temporary cable?
Updated over a year ago

If you experience service problems and a technician identifies that the issue is with the buried line connected to your home, they will install a temporary line to ensure a stable internet connection. Once installed, you will be placed on a priority waitlist to have your cable buried.

The burial of the new cable is completed at no cost. The burial process typically takes a total of 6-8 weeks to complete. However, it's important to note that burials are only performed from April to November when the ground is defrosted.

During the 6 to 8 week period, we will obtain permits, apply for utility locates if needed, and assign a burial contractor to complete the work.

If a burial order is created during the winter, when burials are not possible, we prioritize it based on the date the order was created.

  • Created between October 1 and January 31 of the following year: we'll complete the burial by June 30.

  • Created between February 1 and June 30: we'll complete the burial by August 25.

  • Created between July 1 and September 30: we'll complete the burial within 6-8 weeks of the order creation.

Please note that these timelines are subject to our ability to acquire the necessary permits and locates. Delays may occur if there is construction or other ongoing work in the area that prevents us from completing the work.
